Step-by-Step Guide to Cleansing Your Aura
First of all, let’s start off with what your aura is and why it needs to be cleansed.
Your aura is YOUR body of energy. And others have them too. Can you recall a time when you met someone who had a powerful energy to them? Someone you wanted to get closer to? Have you met someone who you gave you the creeps and you wanted to take a step away from? Or when someone sits beside you and you either lean or move away?
Then you have felt subtle energy bodies on others, and yes, that’s apart of the aura.
And the aura and cleansing it is just one thing to learn about yourself, there are a lot more to explore—and I’ve made it easy for you to do so.
What affects your aura?
First and the easiest one to identify are your thoughts and words. Positive, powerful statements of truth expand your aura. But negative, damaging, harmful speech diminish your aura.
Other things with a more broad scope that affect your aura are: your family, the collective unconscious, the energy of places you go with lots of people(trains, planes, airports, jails, hospitals, a house with tense energy), the food you eat, the books you read, the shows you watch and the things you scroll through on the internet.
All of these are working to either impact you positively or negatively and when you become away of it, you can change what you consume so you can become brighter.
Here are 5 easy and beginner ways to cleanse your aura
1. Smudging with Sage or Palo Santo
Burning sage or palo santo is an ancient practice used to clear stagnant energy. Light the smudge stick, gently fan the smoke around your body from head to toe, focusing on areas where you feel tension or heaviness. Set an intention like “I release all negativity and welcome light.”
2. Visualization and Meditation
Close your eyes and take deep breaths. Visualize a bright white or golden light surrounding your body, dissolving all dark or heavy energy. Imagine this light filling you with calm and positivity. Spend 5-10 minutes daily in this meditation to keep your aura clear.
3. Salt Baths
Salt, especially sea salt or Himalayan pink salt, absorbs negative energy. Add a cup of salt to a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes. Visualize the salt drawing out impurities from your aura as you relax.
4. Use Crystals
Certain crystals like clear quartz, amethyst, and black tourmaline are known for their protective and cleansing properties. Carry them with you, meditate holding them, or place them around your home to maintain a clear energy field.
5. Nature Connection
Spend time outdoors—walking barefoot on grass, hugging trees, or sitting by water. Nature naturally cleanses and balances your aura. Take deep breaths and absorb the healing energy from the earth.
